VDE23.INF --------- E. Meyer, 9/86 Guide to changes in VDE, VDM 2.30 for the previous VDE user My apologies for continuing to tinker with the VDE command set, but new features had to be squeezed in somehow. See VDE.DOC for details on the following CHANGES from v2.2: CURSOR MOVEMENT: There are new Word functions: ^F word right, ^A word left, ^T delete word. ( ^^ is now Toggle Case, instead of ^T.) You can move to the top or end of the screen with ^Q-up/down arrow. FIND/REPLACE: ^QF is still Find; ^Z repeats the last Find. ^QA is a new Global Find/Replace (you can confirm each change Y/N, or type "*"). PRINTING: There are a number of added options (besides multiple copies) when printing the file, including page numbering and headers, control code filtering, and selective page printing. Also, entry of control codes with ^P is no longer restricted to the installed print codes. MACRO KEYS: There is a new command ESC-#-0..9 to allow one macro Key to chain to another, effectively allowing strings longer than 65 bytes. INSTALLATION: The installation patch area has been modified; earlier overlays will no longer work. This should present no problem as installation can now be done with the new VINSTALL program. BUG FIXES: Several bugs in v2.2 have been fixed. ^B now works properly on encountering blank lines when the left margin is set. BIOS errors on disk writes are once again trapped correctly. erly
